The Jogil Company was established in 1984 by José Olyntho Antunes de Oliveira, whom operated the Engetest Company at that time as a supplier of engineering services which specialized in large industrial projects throughout Latin America.

Jogil Company Ltda was established to manage holdings in the Jequitinihonha Valley of Brazil. In the Municipality of Carbonita, in the Jequitinihonha Valley, the primary agricultural product was Arabic Coffee Beans. The holdings of the company at that time extended to 700 hectares of planted coffee. The production at that time was very low due to low density plantings and antiquated farming techniques.

Immediately, the Oliveira Family sought to improve the growing techniques by traveling the world to find the most innovative techniques and technology. After travels from Israel to the African continent and back, the company has taken its holdings to state of the art agri-business plantings. Increasing plantings per acre by nearly 300%, Jogil has increased production per acre accordingly. With this type of plantings, new irrigation equipment and new techniques, the goal of a new, innovated coffee plantation was accomplished in a very short time.

In addition to the original 700 hectares, the Company has added 1,800 more planted hectares of coffee to bring the total of high density plantings to over 2,500 hectares of coffee plants. Another 30,000 hectares of land are used for cattle grazing and other agricultural products.

Of high importance to the Oliveira Family, is the preservation of natural habitat. In seeking a balance between commercial agriculture and forestation, the Family has purchased 4900 hectares solely dedicated to the reforestation of the rain forest. To show their dedication to nature, the Family has decided to name it signature brand of coffee after the Guará Wolf which is an endangered species of wolf found in the Brazilian Rain Forest.

The headquarters of the Company is in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The founder, Sr. José Olyntho Oliveira, oversees the company along with his three sons from the headquarters. Regional activities are managed by highly trained personnel in each area of concern.

The dedication to seek the highest quality coffee attainable coupled with the standard of excellence with the environment separates Agro Pecuária Jogil Ltda from all the other coffee producers in Brazil.
